Holiday Season Kick-Off in Buelah Lee Park!

Mayor Joe E. Vega and the Port Isabel City Commissioners present the City of Port Isabel 3rd Annual Community Tree Lighting! Over 600 visitors and residents enjoyed perfect weather, Christmas caroling, performances, vendors and a visit from Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus. Master of Ceremonies, Edward P. Meza (City Manager) introduced Mayor Joe E. Vega and the countdown for the lighting of the Community Christmas tree kicked off the evening schedule.

Performances that followed were: Port Isabel High School Band, Port Isabel Junior High Band, Garriaga Elementary Choir, Derry Elementary Choir, Derry Elementary Dolls, Derry Elementary Cheerleaders, Port Isabel Jr. High School Cheerleaders and the Port Isabel High School Silver Belles.

23rd Annual Christmas Lighted Boat Parade finished up in style as participants made their way from the judging area at White Sands Restaurant and Marina in Port Isabel to bayside on South Padre Island at Louie Backyard. Great weather and clear skies made the perfect back drop for the fourteen vessels ranging from a kayak to 30 ft. and over commercial vessels decorated with all the holiday trimmings.
