The Port Isabel Public Library is proud to present the Winter Arts “Kamp for Kids” program at the library. In partnership with the El Paseo Arts Foundation an arts program will be held in December when the local public school is closed for the holiday season. Children will be able to explore their creative juices under the tutelage of art director Loretta Ponder. All art materials will be provided free; children need only bring a smock.
Due to space limitations the library can only accommodate 20 children per session, and enrollment will be done on a first come, first serve basis once registration begins.
Registration: Mon., Dec. 13 – Fri., Dec. 17 (register at the library or reading room)
Program Dates: Sat., Dec. 18, & Mon., Dec. 20 – Wed., Dec. 22 from 9:30 A.M. – 11:30 A.M., for children under 11 years old.
Tues., Dec. 28 – Thurs., Dec. 30 from 10:00 A.M. – 12:30 P.M. for children 11 and older.

The American Wind Symphony Orchestra performed at Sea Ranch Marina in Port Isabel this Friday night to an enthusiastic audience of thousands under perfect skies. (See slideshow below.)

El Paseo Arts Foundation presents a performance by The American Wind Symphony Orchestra

COST: $5 per person (children 12 and under free when accompanied by an adult)

Audience members are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the fabulous music on the waterfront, under the South Texas stars. There is limited bleacher seating but plenty of space for blankets and lawn chairs.
Directions to Sea Ranch Marina at Southpoint: Take the Navigation District turn off from Hwy. 100 onto Port Road, and the left fork when you reach the Industrial Park in the Port Isabel harbor area. Watch for signs telling where to park with free shuttle service. Handicap parking will be available at the marina.
Open Rehearsals for the Orchestra at the Marina: May 18 – 21: 8:00 a.m. -11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Port Isabel EDC will host a free mini-concert featuring one of the orchestra’s premiere ensemble groups on Saturday, May 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at The Garden in Lighthouse Square on Maxan St.
