Port Isabel Celebrates Halloween & Day of the Dead! Costume Contest, Dance, Exhibits, Plays, Vendors, Food, Movie…

This weekend was jam packed with lots of activities to celebrate Halloween and Day of the Dead, Dia de los Muerto!

Beginning on Friday, the Lighthouse Establishment Cinema closed out their 2010 season with a showing of \”Coraline\” under a blanket of stars and perfect weather!

Saturday afternoon, the grounds of the Port Isabel Museums hosted a variety of attractions! Vendors, live music by La Mision Ensamble, great food, hands-on activities like sugar skull decorating and altars in a cigar box, a special play presented by Gloria Bates, and lots of altar exhibits in the Treasures of the Gulf Museum Gallery. When the sun set, it was time for a Halloween costume contest and more live music for the first ever Halloween Street Dance with Risueno!
