Happy, an international award-winning entertainer is one of the top Latino comedians in the United States. Happy’s performances have delighted thousands of diverse audiences who attend his comedy concerts, convention presentations, and private events throughout the United States, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.

Happy is a past member of the Texas Magician’s Association and has won numerous awards in comedy and night club magic.  He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.

Museums Telling Our Stories. Thursday at the Treasures of the Gulf Museum

The Museums of Port Isabel and the Laguna Madre Museum Foundation are proud to present its “Telling Our Stories” Series of 2015 on Thursday, May 28, at the Treasures of the Gulf Museum at 7pm. (317 E. Railroad Ave.)

TOPIC: US Mexican War & Fort Polk. Early of local interest. Presented by Jim Mills.

“Telling Our Stories” is an educational program aimed to preserving the heritage of the City of Port Isabel and the Laguna Madre area. Our goals are to preserve and educate our local and natural history through presentations and exhibits. The program is co-sponsored by the Museums of Port Isabel and the Laguna Museum Foundation. “Telling Our Stories” is presented on the fourth (4Th) Thursday of each month from January through September at the Treasures of the Gulf Museum. Admission is FREE.

Snook Foundation holds meeting in Port Isabel

A group of like minded, focused anglers and board members of the Snook Foundation and the Port Isabel Chamber met at White Sands \” alt=\”\” width=\”420\” height=\”279\” />Restaurant on Friday, Marcy 6, for a meeting where Snook took presidence. Also in attendence were Danno Wise, local guide, writer and Snook Foundation Lower Laguna Madre Regional Director and Port Isabel Chamber Marketing Committee member; Calvin Byrd, Port Isabel Chamber Board Treasurer; Valerie Bates, Port Isabel Marketing Director and Betty Wells, Chamber Executive Director.  Aaron Reed, Snook Foundation Texas State Director led the discussion which included a variety of topics such as considerations for an October tournament focusing on Snook which will include species research. Board members of the Snook Foundation also attending included Rick Roberts, Executive Director and Kendal Larson, Director.

Other topics up for discussion were paddling trail projects in the Laguna Madre and Bahia Grande area and partnerships between the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department and the Snook Foundation and other groups interested in promoting the local Snook fishery and activities related to the Laguna Madre and the Bahia Grande.

The Snook Foundation Board is to be in communication with the Port Isabel Isabel Chamber of Commerce to finalize the planning of October Snook Tournament and will continue working together to identify and maximize the opportunities that the Snook species brings to the Laguna Madre area.

TIFT presents donation check to Museums of Port Isabel

During the Museums of Port Isabel 13th Annual Fundraiser on February 12th, Chuck Fultz, Texas International Fishing Tournament Board President, presented Gabriel Godines, Museums of Port Isabel Educational Programming Curator with a donation check for $2,000.

The Museums and TIFT have long been partners in preserving the history of the Laguna Madre area and supporting the area historical roots in some of the world finest sport fishing. The Historical Museum, housed in the Champion Building, features an exhibit of the tournament perpetual trophies, some of which date back to the first year of the then named Tarpon Rodeo in 1934.
