TS Don Advisory 11:00 a.m.

TS DON UPDATE
11:30 a.m.

“Watchful eye” is the phrase of the day as Mayor Joe E. Vega reminds the citizens and visitors of Port Isabel to take advantage of the short time before Tropical Storm Don makes its way onshore with an estimated 3 – 5 inches of rain and maximum winds reaching 50 mph in the next couple of hours. “Outdoor items should be secured or moved inside at this time”, Vega continues. Tropical Storm Don should have passed over the area of the Laguna Madre entirely by the early morning hours on Saturday. With lots of sunshine with the chance of a stray shower, Saturday should be a “good beach day”, says Barry Goldsmith of the National Weather Service.

The City of Port Isabel will keep you updated on the progress of Tropical Storm Don, sandbag distribution and other information related to the storm.

Hurricane Stickers are available at the Port Isabel City Hall (305 E.
