Lighthouse decorated for arrival of 72nd I.B.C.T. this weekend!

Port Isabel is set to welcome the 72nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team back from Iraq!

The Port Isabel lighthouse has been decorated with yellow ribbons in the biggest \”Welcome Home\” Port Isabel can offer! Pictured left, Gabriel Godines, Port Isabel Museums Curator of Education and Programs, puts the finishing touches on the yellow streamers hanging from the top of the lighthouse.

Additionally, the Port Isabel Chamber Merchant Committee used hundreds of yellow balloons to decorate the area between Highway 48 and the Port Isabel Side Channel.

Rotary had already begun installation of flags in the median along Highway 100 this afternoon.

Port Isabel appreciates the service that our troops give so that we may enjoy our freedoms. ALL military service personnel are invited to visit the Port Isabel Lighthouse, the Port Isabel Historical Museum and the Treasures of the Gulf Museum where admission is always free with military i.d.
