Come visit the Laguna Madre area to celebrate Independence Day weekend!

MUSEUMS: The Port Isabel Lighthouse, the Treasures of the Gulf Museum and the Port Isabel Historical Museum are all open. Combination tickets can be purchased at any of the above locations.

SHOPPING: Many local merchants will be having special July 4th sales and events.

DINING: Port Isabel has fresh seafood, fresh wild caught Gulf Shrimp, Mexican, Tex-Mex, Italian, hot and cold sandwiches, all-you-can-eat specials, waterfront dining, SOMETHING for everybody!

FISHING: Fish from the longest lighted pier in Texas on the Pirates Landing Fishing Pier, charter a boat at White Sands Marina, Pirates Landing or the Dolphin Docks. Rent a boat at White Sands Marina. Buy your tackle at Quik Stop, White Sands Bait Shop or Pirates Landing Fishing Pier… you can also purchase a fishing license at these locations.

SIGHTSEEING: See the largest fly fishing rod in the world at Pirates Landing Fishing Pier. Visit the historic City Cemetery. See all our historic markers (find a list starting on page 4 in our visitor guide Walk the Lighthouse Square. Watch South Padre Island Fireworks over the Laguna Madre on Friday night at 9:15 p.m. and Saturday night at 9:30 p.m. and Sunday night at 9:15 p.m.
