Its a shame that u all don’t care about the people health and well being u all just care about the money ur 10k run should have been cancelled due to severe weather. The temp is no problem but when u add the rain and high winds it doesn’t make sense

How long do we have to turn in our timing chip? I was waiting to hear if the race was held or possibly postponed. I know you said it would go on, but we really had some extreme weather at race time.

That was some extreme weather! But the race did go on. 848 runners crossed the finish line. You can return your timing chip, in person or by mail, by 1/26 to the Port Isabel Chamber of Commerce, 302 E. Queen Isabella Blvd., Ste. C., Port Isabel, Tx 78578. Thanks!

The decision to go on with the event was not made lightly. As it turned out the race was delayed for 15 – 20 minutes as a heavy squall line passed and the rain let up a little bit. We hope you will consider participating in this event in the future. Thanks for posting your comment!

I did participate in the event and am completely glad that I did, despite the condition. Thank you to all who helped put this event together and to all who ensured that we stayed safe. Great experience that I will never forget!!!!
